Here are few updates for the week: *Math Homework for Tomorrow/Tuesday: I sent home a sheet today for you to help your child fill out. We will use this sheet during math. This is a great time to help your child start to memorize phone numbers and addresses. Please return it tomorrow. Thanks!! *Reading Homework: You'll see several short vowel stories. Please help your child read the words on the top and then the stories. Please support your child as much as needed. Please feel free to "Echo Read" them if needed (you read the word/part of the sentence/or the whole sentence and have your child repeat it back). You can choose to do a different page each day or the same one until they can read it easily. Also keep reviewing the letter sounds and sight words. *Wednesday, September 25: PICTURE DAY! Please send back your envelopes at any time. *Starting Monday, September 30, You'll receive a new homework sheet on most Mondays. It will contain the high frequency words we are working, fluency words or sentences, and spelling practice. Please practice this sheet several times a week. Please check out the website! *Please check your child's purple Huskie take home folder daily for important information. If you need to send a note to school, please put it in this folder as I check them each morning. Please remind your child to bring this folder back and forth daily. *If your child has a change in his/her regular afternoon routine, please send a note or call the office. If you email, please email a couple of days in advance because I often don’t get to my email until after the school day is over. *Please note that we will not have snack time this year due to our lunch time. We eat lunch at 11:25. *Every Friday is school spirit day! Dress in ‘Albany Huskies' clothes or purple & white. *Remember to sign up for 100 mile club. Walking starts on Monday, Sept. 9th. Students can walk from 7:30-8AM on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. They can walk/run as much as they'd like and can go to breakfast at 7:45am. There are 2 staff members available, they will let students know when they can go to breakfast. *Books: Look for little black and white books to come home starting this week and for the rest of the year. These are great for reading practice at home. We've read them at school before they are sent home. Save these books to go back to and read, especially if the current ones become difficult. Your child can read these books to you or you can read to them. *Birthday Celebration: I am encouraging students to bring a book for me to read to the class on the day we celebrate his/her birthday. *School pictures are scheduled for Wednesday September 25.
