Hello!
I just wanted to give you a few math topics to cover with your child over the next few weeks. A few minutes spent on one of these at night when you read over your reading sheet will be great practice for your child. Skip Counting -Counting by 2s to 40+ -Counting by 5s to 110+ -Counting by 10s to 110+ *If your child has mastered these, please have them work on counting backward by these patterns. Money *Couting combinations of nickels and pennies. If your child has mastered this, please add the dime and quarter. (Counting combinations of coins with quarters isn't a first grade mastery skill, but we work on it a lot throughout the year) *Addition & Subtraction facts through 12 are always good to work on too. -You can do this with traditional flash cards -Flip over two playing cards and add or subtract them MobyMax *Coming home today you'll see a sheet titled "Welcome to MobyMax". This is a fact practice tool we use at school. There are also many other topics covered by MobyMax that you are free to explore. This can be done on a computer, iPad or tablet.

Also remember Thursday, September 14 is PICTURE DAY!! *The first day of school was so much fun! I bet everyone will be tired tonight. The kids were troopers.
*Website: http://mrssteve.weebly.com This year I will be sending updates through my blogpost on my website. I will email you a link to the website each time I post an update. Please check out my website! *Please check your child's purple Huskie take home folder daily for important information. If you need to send a note to school, please put it in this folder as I check them each morning. Please remind your child to bring this folder back and forth daily. *If your child has a change in his/her regular afternoon routine, please send a note or call the office. If you email, please email a couple of days in advance because I often don’t get to my email until after the school day is over. *Please note that we will not have snack time this year due to our lunch time. Free breakfast is available everyday starting at 7:50AM. *Every Friday is school spirit day! Dress in ‘Albany Huskies' clothes or purple & white. *Picture day is September 14th. Thanks!
